What it really takes to launch your own beauty line
The numbers, the timeline and the four stages between an idea and finished product on your shelf - written by the team that manufactures 300+ stock formulas in our FDA-registered Miami facility. Want it in your inbox (plus a launch checklist)? Drop your email and it is yours.
The numbers up front
Two honest rules of thumb: starting from a proven stock formula is the fastest, lowest-risk path to market; and the biggest hidden cost in a first launch is usually packaging decisions made too late. Plan both early and the rest follows.
The four stages, start to shelf
1. Discover. Tell us the category, where your brand stands and what you want to make. We match you to a path: private label, custom formulation or contract manufacturing. This is the 2-minute brief on our start page.
2. Develop. Pick stock formulas to brand as your own, or brief our R&D lab for something original. Samples land in your hands; formulas can be worked in our on-site salon by real stylists before you commit - no other manufacturer offers that.
3. Refine. Packaging, labels and compliance: we help with component sourcing, regulatory documents and everything a retailer or export market will ask for.
4. Produce. Your run is scheduled across our 17 filling lines, manufactured, quality-checked and shipped. Reorders get faster every cycle.
Private label vs. custom vs. contract - which one is you?
Private label - Our proven formula, your brand. Fastest and cheapest to launch; MOQs from 2,500 units. Best first move for most new brands.
Custom formulation - Our lab builds your formula from a brief. A lab fee applies and development adds weeks, but the formula story is entirely yours.
Contract manufacturing - You already own a formula that sells; we compound, fill and finish it at scale on our lines.
The launch checklist
- Category and hero product chosen (start with 1-3 SKUs, not 10)
- Path picked: private label, custom or contract
- Budget sized against MOQ + packaging + freight, not just unit cost
- Samples evaluated - and salon-tested if it is a hair formula
- Brand, label artwork and packaging components locked
- Compliance documents in hand for every market you sell into
- Production slot booked and reorder point set
- Launch channel ready: site, retail or chairs in your salon
